Hitster cards: size, editions, PDF download and making your own

A Hitster card is a small square card with two sides. The song side shows a QR code: scan it with your phone and the song starts playing. The answer side shows the artist, the title and the release year. Players hear the song, guess where it belongs on their timeline, then flip the card to check. The whole game runs on those cards, which is why so many people look for extra ones, replacements or their own versions.

Hitster cards are square. Cards made with Hitify are 65 x 65 mm (6.5 cm), the same square format as the original, so a homemade card sits comfortably in the same box and in the same timeline. A print PDF fits 12 cards on one A4 sheet (3 by 4), fronts and backs aligned for double-sided printing, and the professional print option adds a 2 mm bleed for clean cutting.

There are two routes. Official expansions from Jumbo add a fixed set of songs, chosen by the publisher, sold in toy and game shops. Making your own gives you cards with exactly the music you want: your own playlist, a birthday, one decade, one artist, or the songs the original box skipped. Hitify turns a Spotify, YouTube Music or Tidal playlist into Hitster-compatible cards with a QR code and a verified release year on every card. Hitify is not affiliated with Jumbo or Hitster; the cards are made for Hitster fans and play by the same rules.

Not sure a year on a card is right? Release years are debated in every game night, mostly around re-releases and remixes.
